The suture is designed to provide smooth tissue passage while delivering consistent tension control throughout the wound. Its barbed structure ensures strong anchorage in tissue, promoting uniform distribution of tension and secure tissue approximation. The use of the PS-2 precision needle enables accurate placement and minimizes tissue trauma during suturing.
Stratafix Spiral Monocryl Plus offers initial wound support for 1 to 2 weeks, sufficient for healing in tissues requiring temporary reinforcement. The suture maintains adequate tensile strength during this critical period, gradually losing strength as healing progresses. Complete absorption is achieved via hydrolysis between 90 and 120 days, eliminating the need for removal.
